Goto Classico rice porridge at Crspy Bnch Winnipeg - Filipino congee with garlic, ginger and toasted garlic

About Our Goto

Every Filipino household has a goto memory: rainy days, late nights, or the first thing you eat when you are getting over a cold. We cook ours down slowly so the rice breaks apart into a thick, glossy porridge, then build the flavour with ginger, plenty of garlic and a savoury base that keeps it from ever tasting plain.

The Classico is the pure version — porridge, aromatics, toasted garlic and green onion. From there you can climb the menu: Goto Loaded, Beef Pares Goto, Goto Innards for the traditionalists, and Goto Langit with egg, brisket, tripe, tendon, crispy pork isaw, lechon, pares sauce, bone marrow and chili oil. Start simple or go all the way.

Goto FAQs

About the dish

What is Goto?

Goto is a Filipino rice porridge — a thick, savoury congee cooked with ginger and garlic and finished with toasted garlic. Traditionally it is made with beef tripe, and at Crspy Bnch you can order it plain as Goto Classico or with innards and other toppings.

What is the difference between Goto and arroz caldo?

Both are Filipino rice porridges. Arroz caldo is usually made with chicken, while goto is traditionally made with beef tripe and a beefier base. Our Goto Innards and Goto Langit lean into that traditional style.

What is Goto Langit?

Goto Langit is our fully loaded bowl: egg, brisket, tripe, tendon, crispy pork isaw, lechon, pares sauce, bone marrow and chili oil over the porridge. It is designed to be shared or to be a very serious dinner.
